Stupid Sucks!

I’m still amazed at how many people out there despise Apple and their products. The most common thing I hear now is, “It has the same hardware as my computer (Windows/PC), it just costs $1k more.”, which absolutely drives me nuts.

Apple might use the same processor, hard drive, graphics card, etc. but they used the components better than any other computer manufacturer for the price. What gives Apple the edge over the competition? Their operating system and their quality casing designs. read more…

Apparently the Federal Government (aka the big stupid ass) is halting large-scale solar power projects for two years. (NYT) Why?

They want to make sure it isn’t hurting the environment or the animals. Oh, they are so thoughtful and caring. Either that or greedy bastards that want to delay alternative energy sources even longer. I wonder if they ever thought about the environment or the animals before they started using fossil fuels…yeah right!

Meanwhile the search for oil continues even if it means more harm to the environment, animals and the air we breath. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Having worked at newspapers I have experienced countless frustrations when dealing with sales people. I came across this video that was hilarious and yet so true. You can substitute other jobs in place of the web dude as well.

Sometimes I seriously wonder about the sanity of sales people (and if they have a soul). Many people argue that sales is a hard job and that you have to be very good at it to succeed. My 2 cents is that sales people are not good at what they do, they are just the only people left who are willing to do it. Everyone else was smart enough to go get better jobs. read more…

About six months ago I designed my first business cards and was pretty happy with them. Sent the designs off to the printer and a few days later had my first set of real business cards. Printed on a sturdy 15pt stock, full color and glossy on both sides with a pretty accurate trim.

In college I took a Critical Thinking class and boy oh boy did I feel like it was a total waste of time. It really just seemed like common sense to me. I attended less than %60 of the class and still pulled off over a 100% in the class (extra credit).

What I didn’t realize until later in life was that not all people have the correct thought process to be a critical thinker but most definitely have the ability. Thus the reason for the class.

Do you think newspapers ever sit there and wonder why they are slowly dying? I would doubt it as the last two I have worked for are too caught up in sacrificing any and all genuine quality and value of the publications they produce to make a quick dollar.

It’s interesting how such large players in the media industry could be so ignorant. Your readers are the same as the customers walking into a store. Without them you are nothing. The customer is always right. read more…
